Kaufman Astoria Studios is a historic full-service film and television studio in Astoria, Queens, originally built for Famous Players–Lasky (Paramount) in 1920 and the oldest operating studio in New York City. Real estate developer George S. Kaufman took over the property in 1982 and renamed it; today it offers soundstages, production offices, and support space and is a hub for major film and episodic TV production in New York. The studio is also pursuing a large mixed-use creative-district development in Astoria. It serves studios, networks, and streamers and is home to long-running productions like Sesame Street.
