The Brooklyn Navy Yard is a 300-acre city-owned industrial campus operated by the nonprofit Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation (BNYDC), which manages roughly 4.5 million square feet of leasable space across about 40 buildings with more than 300 tenants. Historically a naval shipbuilding facility, it is today a modern manufacturing and media hub and home to Steiner Studios, the largest film and TV production complex outside Hollywood. BNYDC has partnered with Steiner to expand media production, including converting the 20-acre former Naval Annex Historic Campus into production and post-production space. The Yard also anchors film-education institutions such as Brooklyn College's Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema and Carnegie Mellon's Integrative Media Program. It has been led by President and CEO Lindsay Greene since 2022.
