Cerro Pelon Movie Ranch

5547 STATE HWY 41, GALISTEO, NM, 87540

Cerro Pelon Movie Ranch is an iconic Western film location in the Galisteo Basin, roughly 24 miles southeast of Santa Fe in Santa Fe County. The bookable set spans approximately 50 acres and includes functional buildings — church, saloon, bank, sheriff's office, jail, barn, corrals, and train stations — plus about 500 yards of usable railroad track, a 5-acre production staging/trailer lot, and a gated, staffed 24-hour secured entrance. Thousands of surrounding acres provide exterior backdrops. It became a major film location in 1984 when a Western town was built for Lawrence Kasdan's Silverado, and credits include Lonesome Dove, 3:10 to Yuma, Cowboys & Aliens, and The Harder They Fall.
