1601 Studios is a film and television soundstage facility in Albuquerque, New Mexico, located at 1601 Commercial Street NE in a former 1975 liquor-distribution warehouse that was converted into a modern studio. The site was redeveloped as part of a 10-year venture between NBCUniversal and Garcia Realty and Development into a state-of-the-art studio with two roughly 20,000-square-foot sound stages, offices, and a mill. Equipment and on-the-ground support such as lighting, grip, and transportation are provided through Universal Production Services, NBCUniversal's production-support arm. The facility anchors NBCUniversal's New Mexico production hub, with stated goals of $500 million in direct production spending and more than 330 full-time jobs over a decade.
