Camel Rock Studios
Santa Fe, New Mexico(approximate location)
Camel Rock Studios is a motion picture and television production facility located on Tesuque Pueblo land just north of Santa Fe, New Mexico, and is the first film studio in the U.S. owned and operated by a Native American tribe. The Tesuque Pueblo converted its former 75,000-square-foot casino into a studio, a move solidified when Universal Pictures' News of the World filmed at the facility. The Pueblo of Tesuque Development Corporation has invested in expanding the site, which includes more than 100 acres of backlot land set against the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and an earthen water tank for filming water scenes. The studio is owned and operated by the people of Tesuque Pueblo.
