Mortenson's Eaves Movie Ranch

75 RANCHO ALEGRE RD, SANTA FE, NM, 87508

The J.W. Eaves Movie Ranch, now operating as Mortenson's Eaves Movie Ranch under owner Clint Mortenson, is a Western-town filming location about eight miles south of Santa Fe at 75 Rancho Alegre Road. It was originally built by J.W. Eaves at the request of 20th Century Fox to serve as the set for Gene Kelly's The Cheyenne Social Club in 1969. The ranch comprises a full complement of Old West buildings — saloons, a bank, a jail, a general store, and more — many with finished interior sets. It has hosted more than 250 films and productions over its history, including The Cowboys, Silverado, Wyatt Earp, and recent features such as News of the World, and now functions as both an active film location and an events venue.
