Red Star Pictures (Minneapolis) is the Twin Cities' camera, lighting, and grip rental and production-supply company, with a roughly 50-year legacy. The business began as Cinequipt in 1971 and joined the Red Star team in 2021, becoming the largest lighting and grip rental company in the Midwest and an all-in-one shop combining camera rental and video studios in one facility. It rents lighting (Arri, Aputure, Astera, Creamsource), grip equipment from individual C-stands to 10-ton trucks, and cameras and lenses from major brands. The company also operates two Minneapolis video studios, Cinequipt Studio North and Cinequipt Studio South, with cyc walls and support spaces.
