Court 13 is an independent collective of filmmakers co-founded in 2004 by director Benh Zeitlin and based in New Orleans, producing acclaimed work including Beasts of the Southern Wild and Wendy. Its nonprofit arm, Court 13 Arts, is a New Orleans 501(c)(3) whose mission is to grow and sustain the city's cinema culture through visual literacy, creative education and community collaboration. The collective also helps emerging filmmakers realize ambitious projects, supporting films such as Burning Cane and Give Me Liberty. It is a cornerstone of New Orleans' independent film community.
