Sony Pictures Studios occupies the historic 10202 West Washington Boulevard lot in Culver City, founded in 1912 and serving as the original home of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer from 1924 to 1986. The lot is now owned by Sony Pictures Entertainment and houses divisions including Columbia Pictures, TriStar Pictures, and Screen Gems. It contains sixteen sound stages, including the roughly 42,000-square-foot Gary Martin Soundstage (Stage 15), once advertised as the largest in North America. The lot's history spans classics such as The Wizard of Oz, Ben-Hur, Grand Hotel, and Singin' in the Rain, plus modern productions like the Sam Raimi Spider-Man trilogy and Men in Black. The game shows Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune have taped on the lot since the mid-1990s, with Stage 10 renamed 'The Alex Trebek Stage' in 2021.
