Manhattan Beach Studios, also known as the MBS Media Campus, is a 22-acre studio complex built in 1999 by Shamrock Holdings of California for the Roy E. Disney family, making it one of the industry's newest and most technologically advanced production lots. The campus features 15 sound stages totaling roughly 385,000 square feet, ranging from 10,000 to 25,000 square feet each, plus a New York Street backlot and broadcast/streaming stage capabilities. It is owned by an affiliate of Hackman Capital Partners, which acquired the MBS Group platform from The Carlyle Group for $650 million, and is operated and serviced by The MBS Group. The campus has hosted major Marvel productions including The Avengers and Iron Man 2, the Avatar sequels for Lightstorm Entertainment, and Lucasfilm Star Wars series such as The Mandalorian and Obi-Wan Kenobi.
