Fox Studio Lot

10201 W PICO BLVD, LOS ANGELES, CA, 90064

The Fox Studio Lot, located at 10201 West Pico Boulevard near Century City, is one of Hollywood's historic studios, originally opened in October 1928 as Movietone City and billed at the time as the newest and most completely equipped motion picture plant in the world. Fox began acquiring the surrounding westside land in 1924, and the original sprawling backlot hosted everything from biblical epics to the staged sinking of the Titanic before much of that land was sold off to develop Century City. The lot is home to 15 sound stages ranging from about 14,000 to over 28,000 square feet, including Stage 16 with its roughly 500,000-gallon water tank. The lot is owned by Fox Corporation through Fox Studio Lot, LLC; following the 2019 acquisition of 21st Century Fox's film assets by Disney, Disney leased the lot for 20th Century Studios, but in April 2025 Disney announced it would not renew that lease and would vacate at the end of 2025. The studio's associated film library includes landmark titles such as The Sound of Music, Titanic, Independence Day, the early Star Wars films, and Avatar.
