Estimated credit

$250,000 – $400,000

25% base, up to 40% with uplifts of $1,000,000

A starting point, not a bankable figure. The low end is the rate a production can count on; the high end needs every uplift stacked. It does not model tiers, per-project or annual caps, above- and below-the-line splits, or residency rules. Confirm the number that applies to your production with the film office.

Program detail

  • 25% base credit on qualified in-state production expenditures.
  • Uplifts: +10% for Louisiana screenplay productions, +5% for filming outside the New Orleans metropolitan statistical area, and +5% on visual effects spend when at least half the VFX budget is performed in state.
  • A $300,000 minimum in-state expenditure applies to eligible productions.
  • Credits can be transferred back to the state at 90% of face value; a 2% transfer fee makes the net 88%.
