SouthField Studios
Weymouth, Massachusetts(approximate location)
SouthField Studios is a soundstage created from a renovated former military hangar at the decommissioned South Weymouth Naval Air Station, roughly 12 miles south of Boston. Developer LStar Communities retrofitted the high-ceilinged hangar (with approximately 50-foot clearances) into a production studio after learning that major productions were interested in filming in the area. The space drew significant attention when it hosted the 2016 Ghostbusters reboot in spring 2015, helping bring Hollywood feature work to the South Shore. The surrounding SouthField development spans roughly 1,400 acres across Weymouth, Rockland and Abington.
