The Universal Studios Lot in Universal City is a 400-acre studio complex owned and operated by NBCUniversal, a subsidiary of Comcast. The lot includes more than 30 sound stages ranging from about 3,500 to 36,000 square feet, alongside extensive backlot locations, the Brokaw News Center, full production and post-production facilities, and roughly 165 other structures. Its famous standing backlot sets, including Courthouse Square and Colonial Street, have appeared in countless productions. Films shot on the lot include Psycho, Jaws, Back to the Future, Jurassic Park, and War of the Worlds, while television productions range from Desperate Housewives and The Good Place to The Voice and American Ninja Warrior. The lot continues to expand its soundstage capacity to meet rising film and TV production demand.
