Cherokee Film Studios

Cherokee Film Studios is the soundstage/production-facility branch of Cherokee Film, an ecosystem launched by the Cherokee Nation that also includes Cherokee Film Productions, the Cherokee Film Commission, and the Cherokee Film Institute. Located on a campus in Owasso, Oklahoma (near Tulsa) within the Cherokee Nation Reservation, the studios offer practical and virtual (extended reality/LED volume) production soundstages, production offices, and support services for both internal and external film and media clients. Following a 2024 expansion, the roughly 27,000-square-foot facility added a second 10,000-square-foot soundstage and is described as the largest virtual production soundstage outside of Los Angeles. The broader Cherokee Film operation centers on the mission of 'narrative sovereignty' and Native representation while driving economic development for the tribe. Cherokee Film Productions has produced content such as the Emmy-winning docuseries Osiyo, Voices of the Cherokee People.
