Meddin Studios
Savannah, Georgia(approximate location)
Meddin Studios opened in late 2009 in the historic Meddin Brothers meatpacking plant on Louisville Road, founded by SCAD alumnus Nick Gant as one of the region's first all-digital, one-stop production facilities with soundstages, editing bays, a Pro Tools audio suite, and camera/equipment rental. In its early years it hosted features such as Savannah and CBGB and drew national attention, including a 2010 visit from President Obama. After financial difficulties and a 2013 Chapter 11 filing, the Savannah College of Art and Design purchased the facility in August 2014, and it was absorbed into what is now SCAD Savannah Film Studios. Meddin no longer operates as an independent studio business; the building is part of SCAD's film campus.
